PI adapter plate

I am in the process of getting all the parts needed to do a PI intake swap. Mine on my 96GT cracked and is leaking. I know there is a adapter plate that is made so i dont have to Fill the gap in the gasket with silicone or weld. I caint find it to save my life. Are they worth it? I dont really like the idea of doing the silicone or weld cause i wana make sure that it all will work and i feel more comfortable with the adapter plate. Where can i get the damn thing????
Also make sure i got everything pls
PI intake
Intake gasket
water nipple
water tube
Injector o-rings

thanks

you have to buy it as a kit from livernois! It is not worth it IMO. The silicon will work fine as long as you use PI gaskets and just use the amount that I did!

i actually saw the plate today (livernois) it pretty much looks like a hybrid between the NPI and PI gasket. I would just call livernois and ask them for a price for the plate alone. i bet they wont charge more than 50 bucks for it

last I heard, livernois wont sell them seperatly! Also about the plates, you have to amost get a dyno tune to get it to gain the same amount of power! I wouldnt waste my money on plates when the silicon way will work just fine!

Anyway you just use the silicon on those two ports! one on each head! Anyway I used Toyota FIPG because its oil and gas resistant. Expensive stuff though, lol 25 bucks a tube! lol and I put the silicon down and then about 5 minutes later did the gaskets and then about 5-10 minutes I sat the intake on there and started the bolts!

what is the proper name for the water tube? I went to a few auto parts shops and no one knows what it is called. they told me it was a factory part and to go to the dealership. Is that what you did? I might end up going to a junk yard.

Matt, how long after you did yours were you back to normal driving. Is there a break in period, or as long as there is no leaks, give her hell?

Well you have to buy it from a ford dealer ship! The part number for the tube is: XR3Z-18B402-AA
Water Pump nipple:F75Z-8555-AA

What did to break it in was wait 24 hours after I got it together so the silicon could dry and work. Then I started it up and let it idle for while and then i took it around the block not going over 2500 RPM. Then I checked to make sure no leaks. Then i took it to 3500 looked it over agian. I took it on a longer drive and took it up to 5000+ and no leaks. I have given it hell ever since and been about 5000 RPM almost everytime I drive it! lol

I had no clearance issues about my strut tower brace, I just never put it back on, because I dont think its needed, and it adds weight to my front end for the track!

well yeah as long as you arnt leaking when you test it, you should be able to drive it the long distance, but I personally would wait to do the swap when you got back from the trip just incase something did happen that it startted to leak while on the trip!

I would do the swap, but plan an extra day or two before you leave so if you have problems you can get it fixed before you leave!

I noticed antifreeze around the passenger front side of my intake manifold. I read that our model mustangs, the intake manifolds crack in that area thats why the PI intake manifold, the same part is made of aluminum, not plastic.
