I have a 96 Gt, and last night it wouldnt start, i thought maybe it was just flooded, but it wouldnt work this morning either, Its got juice, it'll start up and try to idle for a second, but then it just cuts right out...any ideas on what might be wrong?

is ur fuel pump turning on........?

it would make a loud humming noise when u turn the key into the on position, right before it cranks.

u can either rip out PATS or get new keys......but i dunno how u would go about that seeing that ur chip is damaged.....they might not be able to copy the code to burn it on a new key

it doesn't sound like your key.

it would not have started at all if it involved your pats system

it's fuel related.

well the theft light is blinking...and it wouldnt just be by coincidence that the key broke at the same time...cause it worked great...i just shut it off..threw my key to a friend and he threw it back and it hit the pavement pretty hard. How would i take the PATS system out on my own?

if it is indeed your key.. you are going to spend a lot more taking out the pats system then you will on the $100.00 for a new key.

the pats system is very complex man.

the cheaper route is to get the key...

you will still need to tow your car to get it retuned if you took pats out.

ur getting ripped off.......

unless there charging u more because they can't rip the burn off ur original key....

it should only cost 50 bux to take the program off ur key, and then 50 bux per key...

k this is exactly what happens...I turn the key to on, and the fuel pump powers up...it turns over and is running for no more than a second, then cuts out

it's not PATS then.....

if it was ur chip ur car wouldn't start at all, u wouldn't get power to crap....

the same thing is goin on with my buddy's 98 right now. we think it's his fuel filter or the fuel pump relay. his filter turns on but barely and then shuts off. It does it speratically though, and he's to much of a douche to be on top of it unless its urgent
