I Need to know all about Nitrous
Hi guys I have been saving my money for plans to do a PI Swap. But it erks me that for a lot cheaper I could buy spray. The problem though is the horror stories I read about people blowing the engines up has turned me off. I dont really race but would like to have power when I need it and to keep my car from being a turd. what would be the no no's for nitrous and what would it cost me to get this installed. I also need to know how to use it and what RPM and gear to use it in. Also what are the differences between dry and wet, and what would make a safer setup. Thanks and any help would be great. Help from people with nitrous would help even more, thanks

nitrous is fun.
If you tune for it you can be fairly safe. a pi swap is power that you will always have though. whats better 75 extra hp for 5 seconds or 40 hp forever?

I'm looking to do a 100 shot on my car, tops. It is a Cobra though, I hear it can handle 100 perfectly fine.
Also, wet is safer if I'm not mistaken. |

a wet shot is safer.
I would still tune it for the 100 shot to be safe.

theres alot of positives with dry shots vs wet shots, vice versa.
nitrous is really easy to tune for if u care to go that route even though it isnt a neccessity, our motors can handle 125-150shots relatively easily when nitrous is used correctly. the basics are, dont spray under 3000rpms, dont spray unless the pressure is atleast 1050 but no higher then 1200 if i remember correctly, and enjoy it, you could get a used kit for 200-300 and have it hooked up within 2 hrs if you are any good with tools at all. if its ur first time, and dont care to use more then a 75 shot i would go ahead and get a dry shot, if u go to say 100-150 get a wet shot (not because its safer, but because u will see more power gains)

With a wet kit, an rpm switch, and low pressure cut-off, there isn't one reason I can think of that would be detrimental, as long as you dont push it with the amount of spray you decide to have your snake ingest.

AmericanMuscle has the RPM Window Switch but it is listed as 86-95. What one am I looking at to purchase with a 96 Cobra? Is that the same switch I'm looking at getting?
I'll buy the 86-05+ EFI Kit and the Gen2 kit. I just want the switch now, don't know which to grab. I'll start at 50 and probably be happy until I can afford a good tune. |

What somebody should do is make a write up of all details for noobs, like safety procedures, and how to utilize nitrous.

You aint gonna learn everything about N2O here buddy, ya really need to do some research on your own. Hang at the track and ask questions there, and then put some on, and play with it, thats the only way.
