Awesome NPI write up in 5.0 MUSTANG and superfords magazine

in the august issue there is a writeup on the potential of a swaping in a ported set of pi heads , comp stage 2 cams, pi intake, and acufab tb plenum. the car made 401 crank HP!!!! then the crazy bastards slaped a blower on it and got almost 650 HP! on a stock high mileage lower end. and that was caping it at 6500 rpms, they said with more aggressive timing and higher revs it would put out even more... realy good article, nice to see some stuff complementing the 96-98 cars

yeah I read it, but agian it had on assorys on it and an electric water pump! Still good numbers!

those numbers are pretty good but i agree with matt......lets see that in a DD car and see what numbers come out of it.

yea i know, but how much do you lose through the average powertrain? even if that car 10% it would stoll be over 350 NA on worked over PI heads and only stage 2 cams

at least 15 from a tranny and around 10 from the assessories so easily 25 percent

i was under the impression that there was only around a 10-15% loss from crank to wheels so that car is loosing over 100 horsepower from a water pump altenator and tranny?

the other 10% are accessories like a/c, radio, heat, lights...etc

hmm im just wondering how much actually a certain accessory takes from a car.. i mean it takes a certain amount of force to spin say your alternator, if your making 500 hp or 150 hp... same with your other stuff so there must be a point where the % starts heading down

its typically about 15-20 % drivetrain loss, of course its more with the ac on, but who races and shows off with the ac on. so it would be somewhere around 320-350.
