Need Advise!! Please

Hey, I have a 97 mustang gt. It has 144k miles, but runs great. No engine lights, oil leaks,.....well nothing needs to be fixed. Anyway, I now have a better paying job and would like to start doing things to the car. I was going to do gears, PI upgrade, and maybe a head swap. I dont want to do all this if my motor cant handle it. What kind of advise do you all have about where would be the smartest 1st, 2nd, 3rd, ect... things to do to the car without having to win the lotery... Thank you all so much...

Definetely gears first. Thats what most people here will say. Then like ragtop said, a short throw shifter maybe with a cat-back exhaust.

Thank you, I was just unsure. Do you think that it would be better to start looking at a motor swap, or should I do smaller thing instead, like heads and pi? I do have 144k. I would hate to blow it up...LOL

Well honestly, if you plan on kepping the car. A PI motor or 4v motor would be a great idea. That gives you a fresh starting point, not to mention the power increase from even the PI motor.

I think u should go full bolt on, drive the car till something breaks, and go from there. Especially if the car is a Daily Driver.

U don't want to go spending big bucks replacing a motor when nothings really wrong with urs to begin with

yeah, I would love to but just the thought of having to buy the whole engine, and computer system ect.... The money would definitly be a problem. Plue to mention trying to find someone to put it all end without raping my mother....LOL.. I will do the gears, and short shifter, and start saving up money to get the engine. Now when I do, what should I get,, you know best bang for buck. I see you all mention the PI, and then 99+ ... I am lost. Sorry, know more about motorcycles than cars. I need you guys to put me on the right track... thank you again...Kosinski

Get 4.10s! and I personally love my Pro 5.0 Shifter, but MGW will be the best from what I hear.

And personally I would just do the PI swap and drive it until it cant handle it any more.
