just different flow rate. So when you get those heads on, you will have to make sure you switch the computer to the new injector size before you fire it up!

I bought my intake for $100 & PI heads w/ cams low miles for $350. Cheapest shop I found to do the install is $650. Then I still need to get it tuned. Same shop with SCT chip/ dyno tune is going to cost $550. Not to mention the Ford head swap kit is around $120-150. Then you have to add up all the little stuff; oil, anti freeze, PI water tube, maybe gaskets if you cant reuse them.

Or you can get gears and installed around $420-$450. Gears are around $189 new and ford install kit $45 dollars.

I dont know if this helps but this is what I have found. I am planning on doing it all to my 98 GT. I am debating if it is worth the cash to P&P those PI heads and gets some custom grinds on those cams. I havet decided if it is worth the money vs power gains.

yea porting and polishing is well worth it! so are custom cams, its the difference between 235-245 RWHP and 285-305 RWHP

well if you do all the labor for a fully forged assembly you are looking for about 2 grand and for gaskets around 500. Also, you need to go and get that block bored over .020 of and inch, to put new parts in it. I say do it ur self, but if you arnt mechianically inclinded dont!

okay well my first question is does it need to be rebuilt. i think the engine had well over 120k miles, but no problems. i already have the block out of the car and stripped down to the shortblock. what should i do?

even if i do do it myself it would be a must for me to have the block bored over .020 of an inch? if i get any new parts it would be forged aluminum pistons and gaskets. i would still need the block bored?

yes u will still need the block remachined for new pistons. and i say if you have it out and can afford forged internals go ahead and do them, or all aluminum if you are going to stay n/a no nitrous no nuthin. THe ligher the parts teh more power u will make, but also if you ever plan on FI or nitrous go forged.

haha no i plan to stay n/a. all i want to do is basically keep the internals stock if everything is okay. i just need to know if the engine needs to be rebuilt due to high mileage. im on an extremely tight budget im 18 working a part time job and going to skool, i know your what 16 or 17? you know what its like lol.

97gt ,you want 19lbs injectors .Thats more than enough for your set-up and you dont need to mess with the computer..They look kinda orange, and your gonna have to reuse your NPI fuel rails and parts.. The systems are different on NPI vs. PI. They swap right over though. You have a return style.

BTW- Its best to start your own thread with questions.
