Keep saving for pi or buy gears?

What would you guys do if you were in my situation? I want to do the pi swap but will gears make my car that much faster? with my mods and 4.10 gears will i be able to win a race against a gtp, or 95z28 lt1, or 03GT vert? I want my car to be fast and I believe that PI is the way to go but your opinions will get me farther. I know with my mods and a pi swap I could beat or be equal with the cars listed above, but will gears.

ill keep saving for pi but keep the comments comming. I have like $500 saved up so I have a lot to go to get to the $1500 kit, lol. Its hard to decide which car to mod the 88 or 98. I just got this cool saleen spoiler and cowl hood for it and painted so it looks good for now. maybe when the 98 is done ill get the 5.0 s/c'd.

+1 You can piece that kit together for WAY cheaper. That's just a quick route to take and you pay for the convenience. You still got some cash to save, but shop around in the mean time. You can do it cheaper.
