wierd grinding noise
so when i'm in 3rd and 4th gear just about to cross 3 grand thres this wierd noise. My Gf says she can feel a vibration in her butt when the noise occurs. It's a lil bit of grinding and clanking....thats the best way i can describe it.
i recently had a new clutch installed, flywheel resurfaced, and 4.10's installed. |

well still drive it if need be. And the shop is going to have to fix what they mesed up on. And if you have to drive it and make it worse so be it, its there fault that they werent put in correctly. If the gear set is ruined make them buy you a set.

Hope they didnt button up your rear differential without using any fric. modifier with non-synthetic gear oil. I am guessin you had them use synthetic right?

Sucks. If anyone deserves to have his rearend checked out by a competent mechanic ,its Ragtop.
Like I said, gears are a tight fit. You should be there when they take the diff cover off to see if anything comes out. And check the gears GOOD.

so i took the car into the shop today and they diagnosed the problem and fixed it for free. Nothing they did either.
i used to run 87, there's a convienant gas station right next door. I put 93 in it after i left the shop and within 4 miles the noise had stopped. Needless to say no more regular and no more gas station enxt door for me. I scheduled an appt to have them swap out my Cats for a Mac o/r pipe on friday. The only reason I'm letting him do it is because he said he would take care of me when inspection time came around. Me and my buddy r scheduled to do the PI intake swap this sunday. Ragtops got the itch baby......who wants to help me scratch it |

If you have any questions or need help with your intake swap, feel free to get in touch with me. I just did mine a few weeks ago. It's not REALLY hard, but you gotta have patience. The worst part was the 2 small bolts holding the coolant tube on the back of the motor. Talk about a bitch to get to...
