I did the AM directions as well, however they worked out perfectly for me. I love the look of the fogs on with only the driving lights... cool effect.

PM sent...

I think this is how it is supposed to be stock, mine are the same way.

My 2000 Cougar however would let you run fogs w/ running lights only stock.

First off two words............Volt Meter lol
My foglights will not work until i have lights on also..........this is normal.
As for solving your problem get a volt meter and measure the voltage at the convertable wires. Should be 12v +- as long as the key is on.

Oh yeah.........and once you do this dont forget to turn your foglights off along with your headlights lol

Ok, if you disconnected the purple and orange wire, that's why it isn't working. You have to swap the red and black wire with the blue and red this should get it working

Yeah if you are looking at the red/black wire, its right below it. All you have to do is pull the red/black wire and switch it with the blue/red wire right beneath it. They should both be the 2nd wires from the right side on the plug. If you are holding the plug in your hand, red/black should be on top and blue/red should be on bottom. Just pull both out and flip them. This will get your fog lights working with your running lights and give you the look you want.

No problem on the help man. I just happened to read over it and see where you had pulled the purple/orange wire. Maybe no one else saw that part.

Enjoy the new look. I know I have.

hold on a second lol ... so you cut the red and black wire and the blue and red... then you connect the blue and red from the plug to the red and black wire going away from the plug?

Oh my bad... Maybe I wasn't reading close enough. Those instructions from AM are kinda tough to follow. I'm not sure about how to run them without running them through either your running lights or headlights.

Sorry I couldn't help man.

Mustangworld Fog light re-wire

^ if you follow this setup, your fogs will run so long as your key is in the on position (forward - to where your fuel pump primes)

so with that it will work whenever the factory foglight switch is on, correct? no matter whether your headlights are on or not, or even if they're on bright?

the fogs will work as long as you have your key in the ignition and forward at least to the first click (run) they will not stay on if your keys are out of the ignition, or if your key is turned backwards to the accessory position. it doesnt matter if your headlights are on, it doesnt matter if your brights are on, the only thing that matters is the key. i followed that method because i didnt want to accidentally leave my fogs on and drain my battery.
