KB on my Cobra conv -96...

First of all, Hi! I live in Sweden and got myself a cobra conv -96 at 55k miles.
I've bought a KB S/C that's going to deliver 6 psi.
Just wondering if the s/c is going to kill the car fast, and what is going to brake first.
Should I start looking for a transmission, rear end and forged internals or could the car hold up anyway? I wont be dragracing or something like that, just a fast cruiser.
Maybe strange questions but everything is so expensive here so it is good to be prepared.
Paid $20 000 for the car, and that is pretty cheap.
An s/c installation costs about 12-13k.
Have a nice day!

u paid 20k United States Dollars?

U should be fine if u just bolt the KB on. 6 psi is only gonna net u an extra 100-125 hp on that motor. U don't need to worry about going forged or a new tranny until ur over the 450 mark.

Welcome to the Forums BTW.......

Welcome to MM man... nice to see we are world wide with our obsessions... Nice car to pick up too you'll be very happy with it

Your motor should be fine with what you are planning to do to it. Transmission and rear end as well... Until you hit the mid 400's, you shouldn't have anything to worry about

Wow I might be secluded in my little spot here in WA, USA for I didn't know they had 96 Cobra's in Sweden. How cool!

Ha maybe Mustangs are so expensive over there because they're imports. There's a concept.. .an import 'stang.

If you only plan to run 6 pounds of boost with your blower there shouldn't be any problems with the stock tranny or rear end. Definitely get it tuned on a dyno, however, after the s/c is installed.

Any pics?

And welcome to MM.

Thank you guys. It feels good to hear that my car wont brake down as soon as I floor it.
And yes, that is 20k USD.
I would get it tuned but I dont think anyone could do it here.
Do you think I could run safe with the tune/chip kenne bell ships with the S/C? I filled in a form with my mods and they customized a chip from that.
Dont have any nice pictures for now, just one that I'm trying on a new set of wheels... And yes, I know that I got the wheel on the wrong side :lala
I've got an order on american muscle for about 3 grand coming up, with just "styling" (no spoilers, rice etc), then there will be some professional photos.
Thanks for the warm welcome in this awsome forum.

that looks to be a damn clean car. the car will hold fine at 6psi. the only thing that will have any issues will be the factory clutch. the tune that is with the kit is really designed to get you to a tuner. it will run fine, just better if you can tune. welcome to the forums and enjoy the stay.

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you:
1. Jesus Christ
2. The American G. I.

One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.

I'm sure the car will run fine with the canned tune KB sends u, but i wouldn't suggest romping on the car all too much

he lives in swedan....or she....not sure.

but an american muscle car is the equivelent of a skyline over here. And for all ew know the cost of living could be different over there. She paid a lot for the car, almost twice it's value, so it's kinda leading me to believe that the price quotes she's getting are acurate.
