this is a console out of a 99 cobra. will it fit in my 96 GT?

Yes it will fit, but from what i have heard, the color black in the 96 is different than the 99-04. And BTW that console is out of a 01 cobra gt or v6, 99 looked different!

i think the 01 black are more of a charcoal color or lighter and the 96-98 black are actually dark black

Werd, throw that damn console you have now in the trash or give to someone that wants to put switches in the ashtray.

I love mine!

And yeah the 98-99 had cup holders but not like this one. They had the shitty ones that are removable, and the shifter hits the cup in the first cupholder.

I've been looking and looking for a console swap for my 96. The black interior of a 96-98 is a darker black than that of a 99-04 BUT it is not that noticeable.

Did you find that console online? And if so, where at?

Yeah,its already in your driveway. so try it.They didnt change anything chassis wise on the Stang during those years,so it should fit.
