PI Intake swap complete

I finished my PI intake swap tonight. It went pretty smooth for th most part. I couldnt get my waterpump off to switch the nipples so i just cut the otherone down and cut down the PI watertube and used some rubber hose and clamps and made it work. I got a PI Intake with a aluminum crossover. finding the Tap to work was a a pain in the a$$! I hope everything works out and its all good. I will find out about 5pm tomorrow.
What kinda gains am i lookin at to the wheels? 10-15?

the only thing that has me scared is that i looked thru the thermostat port and looked like the gasket cracked or broke...IDK it was weird looking so i put some more RTV right there just for security. I really hope that it does not cause a problem. I torqued it down to 22lbs. Ya i am looking forward to taking it out and running WOT and see what its got!!

a cracked gasket can never be good......

hope it was just ur eyes playing tricks on u.

BTW, after i did my swap we fired my car up like a bunch of Jackass's and let her warm up....

i had a misfire, but it was because we let a piece of tape fall in the fuel injector hole.

POINT is, if you did the swap right she won't leak at all.......

I got some really good RTV from Oreileys and I feel good about it all. I hope it works....oh i was given a alt. brackett from a PI motor and it dont fit right. i just put on the old one with 1 bolt and called it a day.

was the bracket from an all plastic PI intake or an updated intake?

i purchased the wrong bracket, but my car had the updated NPI intake with alluminum cross over and the updated bracket already

i wasn't suggesting u go out there and fire it up, i was just relaying to u that if u did it right, u won't have any leaks.

they do bolt up to the NPI heads, but there are 2 ports that you have to fill in with RVT to seal it up. I got my PI intake used, it has the aluminum crossover. The way to go!!

98SilverStang: Man do NOT spend your money on that kit. I got mine for over $200 less and all I had to do versus that kit was to put the RTV silicone on 2 ports. My kit came with everything BUT the adapter plates and bolts.

caintcatchmyGT: You are a smart man to wait on cranking her up. I did my swap a month or so ago and waited right at 24 hours. IT IS WELL WORTH THE WAIT!!! Trust me... you'll enjoy the extra power up top. Mine feels like it never stops pulling above 3k.

Amazingly, i put mine on the dyno about a week after i did my swap. My car was still falling on its face around 5000 RPM but if you drive it you definatly cant tell!
