97 Mustang GT HorsePower?

Does anyone know how much a 97 GT (stock) cause i found a couple place on the internet saying that it has 215 but to my dad he says if feels like it has 250 260.

i was just wondering cause it just feels like it has more that 215 horsepower so if anyone has dyno theres can u please tell me!!

k ... that means i only have like 240 since the exhaust system i put on it

a stock 97 GT mustang dyno's at about 190rwhp. it had 215 crank

a 99 GT has aprox. 225-230rwhp, with 260 crank ponies

more like 200rwhp....and thats if u have an o/r pipe and cat back system

a product never does what it claims....25 hp cat back exhaust is more like 5-8 tops...

i aws 17 when i found this out.

i had a 1988 LX 5.0 that had full bolt ons. I was going around saying my car had over 300hp....when the number was more along the lines of 260rwhp.

can u tell me then if i put a K&N Cold airintake and put an magnaflow X-pipe on it how much horse power i will get out of that?

meh o well just have to keep this stang till i graduate hightschool
then i get a new Car. Hopfully if i can keep my 3.5 gpa (yes i'm white) and don't do anything stupid my parents will buy me a (2008-09 Challenger R/T) but i was thinking about a 2003 mach1 or a 03 cobra.. lol counting alittle to early...!!

yeah, the 96-97 have 215, then the 98 jumps up to 225 due to something I can't remember enough to tell u what it is, but the true numbers are supposedly 215.

i still can't believe that 200HP GT ( Mangaflow Muffler on the GT) feels that strong cause like i don't even push the petal quarter of the way of the way and it feels like i'm in my parents S55 AMG when there pusing it a quarter of the way and it has 500 horsepower!!

well I don't know what that is but weight is a big factor.

yea lk memphis said our cars our really light so even tho they might not make a lot of horses stock they will still get up and move

are cars are not light at all.....

they weight anywhere from 3400-3500lbs......

older 5.0's wiegh anywhere from 300-3100 and change

i think it says like 4400 on the sticker inside the door for a coupe. but thats is the GAWR (Gross Axle Weight Rating) which is not what the car itself acually weights.

ur exactly right. if u look in ur owners manual it tells u the maximum payload that the car can handle.......i think it's around 1000lbs......not sure.

GAWR - 4 passengers + trunk load=wieght of car....approx 3400-35XX

the higher number beeing a convertible
