Pipes???

hey umm this week or next i'm going to take my car in to get an X-pipe but i was wondering if like at 2-4k if there is a sound and horsepower difference. also i was wondering if like on the H-pipe (stock) that it has on it now if i could cut off the middle pipe and reseal the open hole if u guys know what i mean, and does it increase horse power and sound or does it decrease , and does still pass emissions in california..??

also i wanted to know if Longtube headers mess up your emissions?

you will hear a nice sound increase all through out your rmp band with an x or h pipe.

don't cut up your stock h. it will sound like ass.

yes an x pipe will increase your HP

as long as you have a catted pipe you will pass.

not in CA.

my suggestion... get an AZ plate if you plan on modding your car or find someone that will "pass you" near TJ.

yes you can pass smog with a magnaflow x pipe as long as it has cats.

and you will still have a nice sounding car.

as long as u have cats on the car it will pass, and sound nice. i have the catless pypes x pipe on my car it sounds sick, but i wouldnt pass. like someone already said, get someone that will "pass you." this girl i know has long tubes, bbk catted x-pipe and slp mufflers and its realllly loud lol. but you ask me, catless; its worth it.

ya i know that now but the thing is though i been reading alot of things saying that the h-piper gives u a lower tone and the X-pipe gives u a high tone. is that true? cuase i'm hoping that like the sound stays the same but just louder

they both have very low tones.

the x pipe can be raspy in the higher rpm range though.

I have long tubes and haven't had a problem with inspection. In fact, he called another cobra owner over to check out that I had a cats on it. That guy said he didn't have cats on his and still got it inspected. It helps to know the inspector.
