cracked intake

My 1998 GT has an antifreeze leak, which is coming from a rather large crack in the intake manifold. has anyone ever heard of this happening very often or is this a freak occurence? The guy I bought the car from said that he had changed the inake for the same reason about two years ago and I've had the car for about a year.

I have heard of this problem for the new edge mustangs thats why there is a recall for it but not a 98 model. Have you ever run a carfax on it to find out everything you can on it?

just buy the pi intake. there are many other threads about this topic just search it up. i believe there is a write up about it as well. Its the sticky that says Npi to pi swap up at the top right when you click 96-98 forum

When you get the money for a new intake i would recommend the PI intake with the aluminum crossover.

Sounds like the guy you bought it from may have over torqued it when he bolted it down. Plastic has a low tolerance for heat and stress.

You dont wana toruqe it more then 22lbs. Its a easy swap not hard at all. there is a hand full of lil stuff you will need to complete the swap. i just did mine about 2 weeks ago. If you aint gona spend the major cash for the typhoon intake, then definately get the pi intake with the aluminum crossover. that is the part that always cracks on the plastic ones. one of the best mods i ever did!
