switching old old 4.6 for a new one?
alright i got my 94 crown vic police interceptor. i need to know if a 4.6 from a stang will cooperate with my computer and transmission. i would like to up it to a '00 or so but will settle with a '96-'98 if need be. so is my engine interchangeable with a mustang 4.6. if not what needs to be done. and i plan on keeping the automatic tranny but i want a new gear, any reccomendations.

should interchange with no or only minor mods. The intake setup is obviously different and would need to be swapped over or the mustang setup modified to fit the cv. The trans will bolt up and work w/ no problems. Just change the exhaust manifolds and frt end accessories and you should be good to go. With that heavyweight of a car, go 4.10's or 4.30's for around town or if it's all highway go 3.55's or 3.73's.

I would skip the mustang motor and go for a lincoln/mark or any 4 valve motor for that case. They are pretty easy to come by and are cheaper in most cases, with minimal work to the wiring harness it will drop in. Just an idea....
