Air/Fuel Ratio

I'm going to be setting up a air/fuel ratio gauge in the mustang tommorow.

What the hell does this thing do? I have no idea. I'm guessing it's suppose to run in the middle which is the stoich. part, but that's about it. SO please help me out. Thanx.

Depending on the brand it may only be a light show. Low impedence drive gauges are not very accurate and are little help. If the unit has a seperate O2 it is probably going to be a high imp. and wil provide accurate readings. What gauge did you get ?

WHat do I need then. Can I just buy en extra peice for it or somehting.

It's for this Senior Project class, I have to learn something. So i'm learning how to hook up guages, it was already in the mustang as were the oil pressure and the trans. temp gauge. They just weren't installed.

OH.

do you plan on keeping this for personal use?

or is it just for your school project?

if it's just for the project .. hook it up and call it a day.. than rip it out and install a real one after class.

Well i was going to keep it, but if there a better one I want that one of course.

I'll just have to take pictures and explain how I did it in a presentation, but after that yeah I could just chuck all of the gauges. I'm not of course but I would like to have the better one in the future then.
