Intake Cracked!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DAMN INTAKE THING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OK after I have let some frustation out, why are these intakes plastic.

What the hell Ford playing at, lol. So my question now is can I get a PI Intake for a non-pi engine or whatever you would call the other parts.

I don't have the money for this intake anyways, let alone a PI Swap of any sort so please don't get me into that stuff, lol.

ALso how much do these things cost, about how much. Thanx for anything.

You can get the PI intake for your car but if you do make sure u get the one with the aluminum crossover. Or you can get the NPI intake with an aluminum crossover.

It will help but i cant say how much because i havent done it to my car. You would have to ask some people on here who know a little more about it.

if you do a PI intake swap, you will have a noticable difference in power. it adds like 10-15HP. After i did mine i instantly felt it when i got on it. Its a lil bit of work, but worth it. you can have it done over the weekend. Read this tread and you will have a lot better idea of what it takes http://www.moddedmustangs.com/forums...ap-vt1878.html

Most of the Boost in power u get from the PI swap is from the Intake itself. But when u combine both PI cams and Intake, you'll really open the car up.

45rwhp for under 500 bux........

u just need a good game plan after that if u want to make more power. Coughs*** blower***coughs

Well now that your intake has finally cracked, I would say its been on borrowed time for about 5 years now anyhow so ya really cant bitch.
The plastic intake isnt a bad idea really, the plastic crossover was a bad design and thats why ford recalled it. Apparently the previous owner that had it during the recall never had it done.

Get the PI intake, and be done.

im not much of a fan of the pi intake swap on a npi headed cars, yes for some it works great but everyone runs into problems and alot of people have leaks, do the whole swap if your going to do it, if not its not worth the trouble and aggravation of 12-15 rwhp

20-25, thats a load of bull man, an intake manifold is not gaining you 30 hp sorry if that was the case my 98 gt would be 5 hp less than an 99-04 sorry doesent add up more like 15 from the intake 15 cams 5 from the heads, is the difference from npi vs pi

Would this work..?

http://www.livernoismotorsports.com/...?p=457&large=1

'96-98 4.6L PI Intake Adapter Kit

Finally, a kit that allows the P.I. manifold to bolt on to the 96-98 4.6L Ford 2-Valve modular engine. The new kit uses specialized adapter plates, a modified intake manifold (un-modified manifold will not clear stock hood), and gaskets to make it a direct bolt on with limited alterations. The kit is packaged so well that it will allow the use of a stock hood and strut tower brace. During testing we have seen as much as 35 rear wheel horsepower on a stock application. Tuning may be required due to the increase of airflow from the Non-PI Intake manifold.

The kit consists of (2) Adapter Plates, a modified PI Intake Manifold, PI Intake Gaskets, all Hardware (Bolts, New Coolant Tube, Coolant Tube Fitting, Heater Hose and Alternator Spacers), and detailed instructions.
