problem


Alright well i got my mac h pipe on the other day and where it hooks on to the header the stud broke and the exhaust leaks, and the mechanics i have talked to said that they have to take the header off but they said the header studs goin into the engine are to rusted. and they said just leave it but my exhaust is leaking what should i do.

If you can get the car high enough, you can use a stud removal tool from the bottom of the stud to work it upwards and out. If it is broken off clean from the header flange you can try drilling a tiny hole in whats left of the stud and using an easy out to get it out. If that doesn't work you will have to remove the header to get it out. Some penetrating oil and some time will go along way with the rusted studs, just be patient with them and you should be able to work them out ok.
