Clutch pedal hard, now its just gettin annoying

Since i converted from an auto to a 5 speed the clutch has been really tough. it doesnt bother me to much now but if i get in my friends 5.0L truck and drive it, the clutch is like twice as easy to depress. i dont know what may be causing this but id like to find out. When we put the thing together i had a mechanic with me and watched over every part and used the allignment tools. yahta yahta so i dont know what gives.

What kind of clutch did you install? Many aftermarket performance clutches have a stiff feel. Also, if it was an aftermarket clutch, did you replace the quadrant as well?

Question actually...whered you get the parts? all new products or off of a donor car? If you used, used parts, you may be experiencing a wear issue.

All Clutch parts, alignment tools, throwout bearing, pressure plate and clutch disc were new stock items from advance auto. Not an aftermarket, just stock clutch.

you probably didn't run the cable in its correct location. the cable is probably binding up and it will break soon.

So you think the cables bad then? how exactly is it suposed to be ran. the way we ran it didnt seem to interfere with anything really but i'm not sure. could the cable of potentially been bad from the start? i imagine that doesnt happen all to often.

More like it was routed so that when pressure is put on it it tends to "kink".It may look like it's in a gr8 place when it was put in but once u push the peddle it's another story.Get some one to push the peddle in a few times while u look at the cable and ssee if u can see where it is binding. Some times a simple big ol' ziptie will fix something like that if put in the right place.
