97 cobra 4.6 power limit

I have a 1997 cobra with a vortec supercharger and am wondering how much power the lower end can hold up to stock? I am now fixing the trans and rear end that cannot take it to well and am also looking for suggestions how to fix that stuff up to.I bought the car and have no history and found out the stock ring gear blew out and they replaced it but didnt check the diff and find that its bent and the car has 68000 on it and the origional trans is gone and this one has a bad 4th gear syncro. I am a maintinance guy in a machine shop so I know and have access to a lot of tools, any recomendations or links would be helpfull.thx.

If the rear end can handle 450 hp than the previous owner really killed it. I am putting 373s back in it for millage and i am hoping I will get more power to the ground because of wheel spin up to 4th, the previous owner put 410s in that are still good, my cobra makes good power up to redline at 7000, is the lower end better with my alluminum block 4v motor than other 4.6 mod, the stock hp and even the hp increase after the vortec supercharger are way beter than a gt and was wondering hopefully the lower end is better 2. the trans is also a week point i am up in the air about, waste money on a t45 or get something that will hold up like a ?

Yup. dont push them much over 450. Because youre right a 8.8 will hold up around 450 without hurting anytihng. I have seen axles break at much lower hp though. So you take youre chances with the stock axles.
