Could be a lot of things....need more info. Did you say that the buzzing sounds only in neutral? Does the buzzing increase if you give it gas?

Thats a tough one without actually hearing it. If I were you I would get under your car and use something to lightly tap the underside of the frame to see if the noise is something non-mechanical first.

is this a manual or automatic car?
If manual, Im betting throwout bearing.
If automatic, Im betting idler pulley or tensioner.

Does it do it at all if it's sitting there idling? If so, get your head under there while she's running and start putting your hands on stuff to see if you can find it.

(Don't touch the belt while it's running lol)

Try taking the belt completly off, if the noise is gone then you know its one of your pulleys and you can start you process of elimination.

ussually the throw out bearing goes loonnnnnnng before the clutch. Mine was howling for a good 5k before i had mine done, and mine wasn't shot either. I prolly could have babied her for anther 2k if i really wanted too.

My bearing was shot when i bought the car too, dealer was smart and knew that if he let the car warm up it would go away. So for all i know, the thing could have been singin for god knows how long

if u take the time to notice he even told u to check ur clutch. Its very hard for people to diagnose a problem over the internet.
