Lowering Springs?

I have a 98 GT with 275/40/17s in the front and was wondering if i put a 1.25" inch drop in the front if they would rub? Has anyone done this with the 275s in the front and been alright with turning sharp...I keep getting mixed answers from people some saying you cant do it and other saying it will be fine...i need facts on it just not what people think so if someone has this setup or knows someone with it please let me know how it worked out...thanks

I got 275x35x18 i was running a 2'' drop and went to a 1.5'' drop. it ran fine with them both. i only switched to a 1.5'' drop because of the fact that my long tube headers were hitting. a 2'' drop looks great!

I have a 1996 GT with m5300-c springs, 1995 cobra R wheels with 275/40/17 tires..all around..
It's fine but i had to do something about the steering rack travel to make sure there is no rubbing on the inside when the steeringwheel is turned all the way....hope this helps..
