PI intake manifold on a 96?


ok so i just bought this 96 gt, its got quite a few things done to it and when i bought the car the kid gave me a brand new set of four tens and a new lower intake manifold that from what i understand is off of 99-04 stang that he didnt install. i know the 99-04 intakes were better and make more power but is that the"PI" intake? will if my car with out changing heads? and will it give me any more power or do anything for me? any help would be great thanks

yes it will fit your car but i belive it takes a special spacer to make them or wok or some kind of modificatin to the gasket

there is a walkthrew on the swap in the forums i found it and am gonna do the swap just havnt had the money to get the new intake yet here is the link to the page it is on

I did mine yesterday, took me about 7 hours for the whole project. Tough job!! I wouldn't do it unless I have a leak. I had a leak.

it will fit your heads no problem, mine did at least. you need to relocate the water hose that runs underneath it though. power gains should be around 10-15 rwhp, never had my old motor on a dyno but im sure someone can confirm it.

mustangmontana.... doesnt fix exactly. Needs modifacations... i put it in my post.

Backyard mechanic I dont have all the special tools,Just a wrench and a socket set,if these are the only tools you have it will take 7 hours to remove and install the new intake. And you gotta take some breaks,because your back hurts so bad from bending over the car. And an hour to remove that very very very back coolant tube bolt.

hahaha, im sorry bro. I will say my back was fine, but the inside of the knees hurt.

I have plenty tools and the wratchet wrench works wonders on the rear coolant tube.
