the only key i got to my car barely would turn in the ignition, let alone the trunk. I bought my car from one dealership, then drove straight to ford to have them burn me 2 more cause the other was gonna snap

well its easy to see if it has keyless entry,

pull the trunk apart, and see if there is a black box in the drivers side rear fenderwell.

You have PATS you cant program a second key by youreself. Some people have "said" they would trick the computer by using a magnet on the second key they wanna program but i have never gotten it to work. If you had 2 keys and wanted a third i could tell you how. But not if you only have one key.

strattec is what the dealership uses as a key they cut for you. So somewhere along the line someone had a new key cut. Thats all. Its still factory key. A dealership is the only place you can have one cut. So no matter what it says...thats where it came from.

On a 1996 Mustang, here.

To program (or reprogram) keyless entry remote transmitter into the electronic door lock control processor (14B001), perform the following steps:
  1. Turn ignition switch to RUN or ACC position and momentarily short the two terminals of the Program Connector (two-pin connector next to the electronic door lock control processor. Remove LH luggage compartment trim panel to reach the connector). Both doors should lock and then unlock. Remove shorting pin.
  1. Press any button on keyless entry remote transmitter. All front doors should lock and then unlock to verify that keyless entry remote transmitter has been programmed.
  1. If door locks do not respond, press button again (up to three times maximum with the same keyless entry remote transmitter). If door locks still fail to respond, go to Pinpoint Test A.
  1. Repeat Step 2 to program additional keyless entry remote transmitters into the electronic door lock control processor (up to a maximum of four keyless entry remote transmitters).
  1. Turn ignition switch OFF. Both doors should lock and then unlock.
  1. Check operation.
Next time dont get so upset. I didnt understand what you meant i thought yo uwanted a second key.
