just wondering what the yall thought of the dss stroker short blocks. im getting the money up to redo my 97's motor trans and suspension. i was wondering if the dss short block is worth it or if i should just get everything peice by peice and have it all done then. eventually i wanna put a super charger on the car but i want a good foundation first. any thoughts yall have would be great

it would be cheapoer to have it done piece by piece by a shop by you. i am running a dss motor in mine. they are a very nive motor but they arent anything special or exotic. as is the same with any of the other manufacturers that sell short blocks. buying a short block straihgt out like that def sves a lot of work and finding little parts you didnt know you would need!

I think it depends on your goals for the car. The stock bottom end can handle 400 hp fairly reliably, which is right at what full bolt-ons and a typical supercharger set up gets you. If you want some mad power, then definately go with a built engine. You really only need forged rods and pistons, everything else is just candy. Oh, add an oil pump with good gears and deep sump pan to that list if you're going blown.
