Pro 5.0 Shifter

i have a pro 5.0 shifter in my 1998 gt and some how it got stuck in 1st but i could still move the shifter into all the gears but it would still be in first and i had noo reverse so i had to take out my transmission and bring it to the transmission shop. i got my car with this shifter but do you think that the bolts that stop the shifter from going to far back is was the problem.

i also got the stock shifter with the car so i put that back in.

is the pro 5.0 good or should i try bring that bolt out more

looks just like mine. I love my Pro 5.0 Shifter, anyway it looks good to me, but do you know how to adjust the stops?
