how to advance your timing


how do you advance your timing? do i need the adjustable cam gears? and if so do i need a special tool and how do you do it without the chain sliping?

Black 1998 GT- sub-fram connectors, shock tower brace, BBK intake, flowmaster catback, pro 5.0 shifter, king cobra clutch, perelli p zero neros. Hids, cleared headlights and fogs, mach 1 chin spoiler, K member brace, H&R springs

Hand held tuner. The cam gears are worthless and will in short time ruin your motor.

what kind of hand held tuner? special brand or model?
