Will Lincoln Mark VIII block work on 1998 Cobra?

I have heard that other 4.6l 32v blocks will drop in to a 1998 Cobra Using Cobra heads and intake. If this is true, what blocks match up?

They're the same blocks with very few differences...Something with some side bolts i believe...read around...but yes...I see mark viii blocks used in cobras and GTs fairly often.

they are the exact same block. all VIIIs from 93-98 had the Teskid block as did the 96-98 cobras.

Pretty sure a Teksid block is a Teksid block no matter what way you cut it. If the seller is smart they know what they have.

Yeah its alum block, but the internals are notoriously brittle, on the up side the heads flow better than the cobra ones with forced induction, so ive heard

Castings are the same as 96-98 Cobras, there is a little difference in valve-train.93-95 have weak valve springs, intake cams have 4 degrees less duration then Cobra ones, exhaust cams are the same.

The FWD continental also uses a teksid this block absolutely will not work as the bellhousing design is totally different.

The block is the exact same aluminum teksid, the cobra stuff will bolt right up. The crankshaft, heads, and intake are different. The only truly weak valve springs were in 95, 96-98 have the best valve springs and the best heads. 97-98 has the best intake.

hey guys i see this dicussion i just got offered a 4.6 DOHC motor complete minus alt and intake form a 97 mark VIII for $450 with 114000 miles i wanna swap it into my 96 GT auto. good deal or no? i dont like the number of miles i was told to "freshen up" the motor by people in my car club if i bought it. wtf does that mean? talking about boring it out and going through it? anyways suggestions on this swap/buy would be greatly appreciated thanks guys.
