using the tool casper mentioned in conjunction with a good impact gun is the best and easiest way by far.
But you can get it done if you have a tube jack or jack stand. Just place the tube jack under the control arm as close to the balljoint as possible. and with a good size ball peen hammer knock the ball joint out. It will come out after you hit it hard enough a few times. replacing the balljoint is a little harder, especially with out that tool. Find a socket large enough to fit over the balljoint stud. clean the hole in the control arm with some sand paper, and grease it up a little, hold ball joint in the hole as it should go, stick socket over the studded end, and place jack under socket. then use the hammer and pretty much beat the control arm down on to the ball joint. DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK. It is the backyard way, not the professional and safest way. But it will get you by. If you cant afford to rent the tool. I suggest you buy/rent the ball joint press tool.

I did rent the pressing tool but i cant get the spindle to come off it wants to be a pain in the ass as something usual with the little bit of work u do to vehicles of course. The instructions on the box is something odd as well lol. Does the balljoint press up out of the a-arm or does it press down and out of the a-arm? thanks

I think it presses downward, I cant remember right off hand. Look on the both sides, there is a lip on one side that keeps it from going thru all the way. Press it on the other side. Hope ya can understand that. As for getting the spindle off the ball joint. Turn the wheels all the way to one side so that you can get a big ass hammer and smack the spindle on the side where the balljoint stud slides thru until the ball joint comes out
if ya are doing this right now and still cant get it after those instructions, pm me

The stock springs may be tough to get in. You may require that compressor for them. Lowering springs were able to fit because uncompressed they are about 1-2" shorter. You can try the same trick, but my guess is that with a strong spring rather than a worn out one, it may be difficult to fit it back in with the A arm at that angle.

i dunno what to tell ya man. I have never used a spring compressor except on coil over OEM struts. which isnt what you have. I have always been able to put springs in without a compressor with no problems. either set the sping in the perch on the A arm and then guide it in the k member perch as you jack the A arm up. or put it in the k member perch and then jack the A arm up to it.

![]() I try to help people out on this site, and then they do what they would like to try. Like i said when doing stock springs they suck. And you need a compressor. Its not like i have ever done this before.

You won't have a problem keeping your stock wheels.
