Crower Cams

alright, so i'm hoping to get a S/C within the next two weeks and i was wondering if Crower cams would be a good set of cams to go with or just go ahead and get custom cams from a local and very experienced shop. also, are Crower cams the only cams made for Sn-95s?

Crower Cams are great cams. But i personally would go custom anytime I had the oppertunity too. Normally they dont cost much more if at all. Ive seen a few other NPI cam grinds, SHM has some i believe, but everyone uses PI cams with crower offset retainers. That way you can run any PI blower cams that is less than .550 lift.

As far as i know, most cam companies charge the same for custom cams as they do for off-the-shelf cams...I know for a fact that comp cams does

you will hear alot of bad talk about crower, just because people like to flame others. but if they were so bad, they surely would be out of business.

with that said, ive used crower cam's in all my cars, and no problems what so ever.

drop you soem crower stage 2's in there, and call it a day.

that sounds pretty good. but if i wanted to run a PI aftermarket cam i'd have to get some Crower offset retainers but not when using stock PI cams?

Stock PI cams dont have that aggressive of a grind.

The offset retainers allow more lift. And if you need more than .550, you can get your valve spring perches machined to allow for more of a lift.

Just throw the cams in there, stage 2 and call it a day. Dont forget aftermarket springs though. Im personally going with the behivees from comp.

yeah i know Boomer has some custom cams but i can't take my car up to his dyno and have it looked at and stuff. that's why i might do some cams down here in Houston with Houston Performance, they claim some pretty big stuff so i'm gonna see what they got.

also, running the cams, i want to get some SVO heads if i do go blown but that'll be a lot of saving for. what intake besides the SVO can i slap on the heads?

npiintake, or the SVO are you options. And boomer doesnt need your car or anything, he is just specing a cam out for your planned mods.
