pi-cams will not work on npi heads..npi heads are good for 500 lift..you need the pi-heads to work with pi-cams.....

Cam Swap On SOHC 4.6 1998 GT
Tom, you gotta do some reading up. I have installed PI cams in NPI heads, MANY times now. Have put PI intakes on NPI heads. Done it all.

The PI cams will fit into a NPI head, without problems. Also you can gain a bunch of power out of them i gained VERY close to a entire PI swap just from PI intake and Cams. Do some dyno research on these swaps. It will make you think twice that NPi people need entire swaps. The compression counts for some of the power youre getting. Youre not doing ALL that work for little power? How is removing valve covers and using the FORD cam tool to hold the chain then removing cams and throwing in new ones. How hard is that....honestly ? QUick, read my "how-to" I changed nothing except the cams and gained some awesome power and it allowed me to still keep power even in the upper RPM ranges. No need to change anything. But i do recommend a PI intake to let it breath.

Quick, you have a 98 motor or a romeo motor as people call it because its where its made. 96-98 and 02-04 motors are romeo. 99-01 1/2 are Windsor. I like to stay away from Windsor motors. Some people in their own minds think Windsor motors are strongers...but specs say they are completely the same.
The reason i bring up the difference is because Romeo motors have bolt on cams, Windsors have Press on's. The easy way to install cams is go with the romeo so you can just unbolt them and bolt new in.

I just stated...99-01 1/2 are press on WINDSOR 01 1/2 - 04 have BOLT ON ROMEO.
