any off road pipe is illegal in any state technically because removing the cats breaks federal law.

I live in northern NJ as well as I am sure you well know

it's pretty simple to bolt on a pipe.. and normally the O/R pipe will specify if it's for long tubes.
if you have any doubt post a part number or link here and we will tell you.
and yes you will love the sound of an O/R pipe.

as long as you save your stock mid pipe you can just slap it on for inspection.
I live in Woodbridge but I have to drive to new brunswick every morning for work ftl.

have you considered an o/r x pipe? I kept wanting to get an o/r h for awhile, but then I heard a V8 new edge mustang in town (not sure if it was 4v or 2v) and I was instantly hooked on it. I love the sound, but its a matter of personal opinion

make sure you ride in a npi car with an o/r xpipe before you buy one. they might sound cool from the outside, but they're annoying as heck daily driving.

you'll be fine with cops...i also live in jersey and i havent been pulled over once for it (knock on wood). but you will definately love the sound. idk how true this is but i heard h pipes give you like maybe a hp or two but x pipes sound better...i have an offroad x and i love it. (even driving 5 hours every 2 weeks between home and school its still an amazing sound, never gets annoying lol.) when you get it, try driving next to a concrete barrier or something, downshift, and jump on it. it gets me hard every time lol

and u dont want a shortie midpipe like HMUSN posted. You want a long midpipe that will work with Shortie headers.

Cop gave me crap about my exhaust being to loud, but didnt look under it or anything, just asked if it was aftermarket.
