3,000K + 96' GT Moter

Hey guys. What can I do with about $3,000.00 to get the most amount of horsepower from my 96' stock GT Motor. Or how much horsepower can I get from the stock motor safely with $3,000.00?

there is a used vortech on ebay right now, buy it now is 2k, that could easily put u over 300rwhp with a tune, so consider the money spent.

simply adding a tuned vortech and a pi intake will yeild him 300+rwhp. and the one on ebay comes with a tuner, just no tune...

hey man i have a 96 gt i just junked that engine went to the junk yard and for $500 got a 2000 gt engine which are the best engines from 96 to 04 because they used the windsor block. i forged the bottom end out did some bolt ons and cams and all together i made 310 rwhp and 336 rwtq for around 3800.00. do yourself a favor and loose those heads and put a set of pi heads on non pi heads are junk and your just throwing your money away if you dont swap them with the same cams and bolt ons before the engine swap i only made 262 rwhp.

Windsor vs Romeo block have no differences in the amount it can handle. They are nearly identical with different size bolt holes.

owned by the yetti...

anyway, i say pick up a blower for as cheap as possible, some boost with the PI swap, and that should put you well past 300RWHP. if you're looking for more then get your bottom end forged, put some lower compression pistons in there, port the heads, put a big cam in there, and do the rest of the bolt ons and what not....that'll be way past 3000 though.

option 2 is a route that i was gonna take and Matt is taking. PI swap for the compression raise, better parts, NOS cams or custom cams, throw in a shot of nitrous and then go from there. your car, your choice

as everyone else said....

Option one-find a used blower and put it on there or

Option two- do the PI swap with PI heads, some cams(maybe stage 2 comp cams or something) and the PI intake and then nitrous. And with whatever you have left over do gears and maybe some suspension if you have extra money
