shifters are easy, very easy, the rubber boot that is actually on the shifter and has to be peeled off, does not need to come off, first of all you undo the console, pull the part that goes around the shifter off, of course take the shifter knob off, then take out the four bolts holding the cover on,take the shifter handle off, you then see the four bolts holding the shifter on, take them out, pull or pry the shifter off the way i told you about, scrap all the old gasket off with a razor blade, try to make sure non falls into the tranny, i beleive you have the T45 so the black plastic peice stays in the tranny and doesnt come off with the shifter, so dont worry about the plastic peice doesnt apply to you, take new shifter, apply the black rtv to the tranny, apply a even not to think layer, alirgn the ball on the end of the tri ax shifter into the hole, push in it, line up the bolt holes, put the new bolts in, make sure the shifters on all the way and is on the tranny evenly, put the shifter in 1st gear set the stops, to do that loosen the nut and move the bolt to the left(unscrew it) till it touchs the shifter handle, then tighten the bolt so theres a small 1/8 inch air gap, push on the handle pretty hard, it shouldnt touch the bolt, retighten the nut so the stop stays in place, then put the shifter in 4th and redo the same thing, you then put the big washer over the shifter handle, then put the rubber cover(the thing you loosened four bolts to get out, you dont need the rubber part thats real dirty and is on the shifter) tighten that done, then put the handle on,put the part of the dash back over with the rubber boot back on, screw in handle, i beleive i covered everything, someone correct me if im wrong, by the way, when you first put the tri-ax in, tighten down the four bolts, put the clutch in and make sure the shifter works, that should be about everything, correct me if im wrong someone, ill try to copy the instructions and send them to you tomorrow
