Crate Engine
Does anyone know where i can get a forged crate engine for my 1997 mustang gt that has at least 325 horsepower for at the most $5,000 and the compression isn't too high? An engine that is already assembled so i can just drop it in.
Thanks, Mike

Your not going to find a crate 4.6 engine with 325 horsepower for under 5000. You would have to swap a 5.4 in there but even at that it probably wouldnt be forged. A forged crate engine isnt going to be cheap at all. The only way your going to be able to get a forged 4.6 with 325hp is going to be you putting it together yourself.

what on sean hyland??? if thats whats your talking about then yes they are so nice...i wanted to get the 400hp dohc but my dad explained to me how he thought they werent worth it...dude just buy a nice short block and take your time on it...if it takes a few years then so be it...it wont kill you with money or time...you wont have to come up with 5k all at once either and you can research andfind out wyhats good and whats not...

Jlaw said it right. Time and patience. Do it right and you wont be picking up pieces off the track. Get a said of pi heads get em worked and add some cams and valves. Then buy a built short block and there you go. Stage 2 h/c on a built short block should net around 325. Plus youll be ready for lots of nitrous.

More power
Where can i get a built 4.6 cobra crate motor for a 96 mustang. It has a sohc right now but i wanna do a swap. Has anyone ever done this before. I am thinking of using this motor http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/item/M6007A46NA. But I wanna throw a supercharger on it before install. How much boost could I push without causing any problems.

You can get a 4.6 4v from a Lincoln mark 8
Heads and cams are gonna run you like 2500 or so. Bottom end is gonna be another 2500 or so. Then you have to assemble it all

The crate motor im looking at is built from the crank up. It costs like 6300 and its ready to go. I just wanna know if its enough to handle 11 pounds of boost.
