Proud New Owner Or a 96GT With A Question Or 2

So heres my story. First off im new to the forum and just recently as in less then a month ago got my hands on a 96 gt auto all stock minus the k&n filter i put in it. Now i got it at a dealership so i had no chance to speak to the previous owner about the car there is 2 things i have noticed about the car that bother me.

1. Once in a while when i come to a stop it idles down so low it almost dies and did die once comming up a highway offramp. I have figured out its worse with the a/c on.

2. This part really bugs me. Sometimes when i fire her up it sounds like something it knocking or metal hitting metal, only during start up thou it imediatley stops when the car starts kind of something is hitting while its cranking over

Any help would greatly be appreciated bear with me folks this is my first mustang im not new to the muscle car world but this is my first car im planning on doing most of the work on myself

IAC could be clogged and need to be cleaned. ill find a link here in a few minutes, and could be something with the starter that is grinding.

My car was doing the exact same thing, I replaced my spark plugs, and wires and coil packs, rund alot better! stopped the knocking, and bad idleing, try changing your plugs and wires first then coil packs, good luck
