burning smell?

so my t45 never wants to go into reverse, and today, i was trying to back out, and it popped out like 3 times, it finally went in, and i turned and kinda heard a popping sound, and then this burning smell. I have to rev it to like 3k to get it to move, it smells like clutch but my clutch has like 1500 miles on it.

What's wrong? do you think its my tranny that smells?

thanks in advance.

i know it makes it easier if you put it into first before you put it into reverse... as for the smell, im guessing its your clutch if you were riding it hard... my buddy's spec clutch had a bad burning smell one time when he rode it to hard...

I agree with it being the clutch that your smelling, and that you probably need a new tranny

replace the tranny soon, you're going to lose reverse all together, 5th will likely start acting up too

Could I just rebuild it? Or do I have to get an entirely new tranny? fifth gear is already kinda hard to get it into, i used to be able to slip it into gear, and now i have to easy it in, and it goes in fine if its eased.

the rebuild you need wouldnt be that hard, its either synchros or shift forks, should cost about 200 if you do it yourself
