New and Scared
Hey everybody, ive always liked mustangs and im finally in a spot to get one... I love the 94-98 body styles, but cant afford much more than 5000. How high is too high for the 4.6 in terms of mileage? Im looking at a few this weekend with 150k+ Any advice for a new to be mustang owner? Looking at 94-98 vert gt's, manual, any color.

You can pick up a very nice 94-95 for 5k...Its a 5.0 so it is pretty simple to work on...It is cheaper to buy parts for...And they look great...
the 96-98 4.6's are underpowered unless someone has done the PI swap to it (Performance Improved Heads and Intake that came on the 99-04's)...I say go for the 94-95's... Personally any car with 150k would have to be quite cheap becuase that is alot of mileage... |

Go with the 94-95...
They seem to be really reliable and they are a 5.0 so it is easier to work on and parts are cheaper if you need to fix it...The 4.6's can be hardcore b*tches alot of the time... |

lol anything with 150k miles i'd keep away from. most people dont treat their car good, they'll say they do but that doesnt mean shit.
like chris J sed..for the money you have a 5.0 is your best option. plus if you want to make it fast, im guessing your budget on that is low...5.0 is the cheapest car to buy and mod up of mustangs. shit with 10k you can buy a 5.0 and put enough mods to make it run 11's or low 12's

buy a cobra ,get all the cobra upgrades in one package and look up a v2 vortech ap guide at vortechs websight and you will find all the mustang hps stock and blown and 96 to 98 are the highest untill 2003 or something but i don't have the cash for year2000+ cars either and am happy with my choice and never regret it either even though i jumped into the world of 4.6 supercharged cobra motor stuff and now have a steep learning curve but ask a lot of questions, there are a lot of people here to help.
