5 quarts.Make sure you check you oil when the car is cold. Be sure to get a high mileage oil to help maintain seals and older parts. I use Valvoline Max Life.Click the link below.

Buy a gallon jug and 1 pint. 4 quarts in a gallon. Do your filter at the same time.

My dad uses Mobil 1 in his Vette. You really have to select motor oil based on your vehicle type and condition. Especially when your talkin high mileage.

if you want to go by factory specs my owners manual recommends 5-30 and of course motorcraft oil and im sure that has nothing to do with the ford brand behind it im sure lol

mobil 1 5w20. that high mileage shit is just a marketing ploy. its bs. as for using 5 -20 the modular motors allready make a lot of oil pressure and there is no need and should not put anything heaveir than a 5w20.

well i changed my oil already so too late for the 5-20, lol. I put in some 10-30 and a new oil filter as well. theres only one problem which got me a lil scared. So i was finished changin oil, then i get near the engine n i smell sumthin funny, n im sure it was just some of the oil burnin that i accidently dropped around while puttin the new one in but who knows, cause i think a seen a lil smoke comin from around where u put in the engine oil. anyways then i check my mufflers n they dripped out something, not alot just a lil but not continuously. then while all this was happenin first thing i had noticed outta my mufflers was that there was smoke comin out, maybe it is cause its a lil cool outside n u know how with a hot car smoke usually comes out, just so u know it was white smoke not as in black burin smoke. well is there anything wrong with this ????? i was gonna go take it for a drive to see how it was after a new oil change but this kinda scared me.

if it was thick white smoke it was not oil, it was water or coolant, when oil burns in the combustion chamber it produces black or blueish smoke. if it is thin smoke would let it get up to temp then see if it is still doing it? if there is a little smoke on startup, then it goes away this can be an indicator of some worn valvetrain parts from a high mileage motor. if it continues to billow smoke out stop it then, because if it is a gasket leak then you will run danger of warping aluminum parts under extreme overheating.
