Discussing Piston Stop in the 96-98 Forum. I'm using the Comp Cams Degreeing Kit for my GT and they aren't any help ...

Piston Stop


I'm using the Comp Cams Degreeing Kit for my GT and they aren't any help at all.....they told me i was doing something wrong. Well my piston stop is too small for the hole.....what do I do??? And when i get it in there, how far do i adjust it???

What im going to do is rotate the crank until I have TDC of #1 with out the heads on. Im going to mark it. Then do the same thing for #5 so i dont have to deal with that things. its confusing to me.

............dammit. i cant pull the heads off cuz i dont have another 250 for headbolts and gaskets

We'll lets see, if I just set the piston stop in there and adjust it to the proper setting, I can rotate the crank and I have a friend watch when the stop moves. I guess itll work the same way??


OK now where do I adjust it

I made a piston stop,,,take the center out of a used spark plug ..take a peice of all tread stick it threw spark plug hole .use nut on each end .you need about 1 in sticking threw..
