Smoking After Idle

so i discovered today that if im sitting at a stop light for a minute or 2 or just sit somewhere idling my car on takeoff will smoke like a bitch it only does it when idle for a minute or more and only after idle not all the time what the hell is up with that 96gt auto

how many miles does it have? because my 97 stang did that, and it had over 150000 miles, and it would smoke like that, because the piston rings were wearing down, and burning more oil!

its got 121000 but yea i talked to a friend and he told me the rings are shot so yea my car i got from a dealer a month ago needs a rebuild im exited as you can imagine

if you wanted to be sure of the culprit, you could do a leakdown test? that would show how much the rings were worn and which cylinders are the worst.

my 96 gt just started doing that..not as bad as urs sounds and mine has only 73000 miles on it
