Smoothing out PI Heads

I have a set of 04 pi heads with 25k on em and they have all new valve seals and were steam cleaned. The intake and exhaust ports seem to have rough ports i guess from the factory. Would it be bad to take a low grit sand paper and smooth these things out? I not going crazy and not reshaping the ports or anything like that. Just smoothing them out to where my fingers will reach. I could get any left over shavings with a shop vac so not worried about that. Just wondering if it would be a bad thing at all.

Chances are you will not gain anything. A rough surface actually creates a cushion of air and speed up the velocity of air. Smoothing the surfaces in the wrong areas can and will slow the air enough to cause turbulance that can effect airflow and performance. Better to pay someone to do it right or not listen and let someone say "told you so".
