Does this sound ok to you??

hey guys, i jus bought a 98 mustang gt (5speed) and have been doin some reading up on it... i hear that the first thing i should do is gears and since i want forced induction i think i need to go with 3.73 gears, next up would be full exhaust from shorty headers to and x pipe, also i would like to add a CAI, these are the first round of mods i think i want to throw at my mustang, also do u guys think using a superchip is worth installing??? any sugeestions would be helpful im jus looking to get the most power out of it i can right now before i do a supercharger or something, and im new at mustangs so if anything up there appears wrong to you jus let me know, thankx alot... John

Also if anyone knows of a good mustang shop around Kansas City lemme know.

sounds like youve got a plan, but i would siggest you do long tube headers instead of shorties, with a forced induction car they will help out a ton. as for th superchips, i wouldnt. id buy an sct x-cal2 handheld tuner that way you can correct for gears, and other things

If got some questions about the sct x-cal2... is it something i should buy first or later on... and i was reading that if i send them a list of my mods they can create a tune for me?? is that right? or does the sct x-cal2 come with settings already that i should use... and does it add any hp? if so like how much roughly? thankx John

yea they will customize a tune for your mods you have. alot of them will send you differnt tunes as you make mods to your car and to me its worth it to be able to chane some of the things your self like make changes for gears and such and yea it will add hp but it will depend on how agressive they make the tune

IMO, it doesn't matter when you get it... it was the 2nd mod I did after bigger and better plugs, wires and distributors, and just having your car outta the factory tune helps... not to mention it's darn near a necessity if you plan on gears, forced induction of any kind, etc etc. The cool thing 'bout the XCalII is that you can get it reprogrammed by the dealer you bought it from and have your tune uprgraded w/each mod, however I've heard that's a hassle and costs a little bit extra. But definitely a good buy imo. :award

i'd get the SCT X-CAL2 ASAP. it'll tune your gears and other mods instead of payin for a tune

also if you get a supercharge..get long tubes...if your sure your going turbo then dont get long tubes
