It's about 1.5 inches over stock, which works out to 3 inches over the previous setup:

I ordered billet .25" spacers for the front wheels last night to put a little distance between the tire and the coil over conversion. Now I need to find the same exact wheel in 17 x 10-10.5" for the rear.

Drove it to work this morning at 0530 before traffic got bad. Man o man o man this car is so smooth and still hugs very well.

After the alignment. Will still have to use spacers to get the 17x9 rims from touching the coils.

Where is the best place to buy the exact same wheel in 10" or 10.5" ???

I think these wheels are "R" copies clear coat not chrome?

You deserve an award or something, seriously. You just put a lot of time, work, and money into that project.

I don't know if this is going to depress you or make other posters really happy but that looks exactly like my Cobra before the drag springs.

So either this is, "Hell yeah, this guy didn't just lift a Cobra!" Or in your case, "Damn, it's not high enough!"

Good work either way, you probably know more about this suspension than anyone out there now. Most people only understand it going down not up. I'm about to measure my rear ride height and hope I'm not depressed.

Thanks Ryan...As long as it's not the Darwin award.

It will be coming up just a tad more as necessary to clear tires and allow for full suspension travel.

17x9 and 17x10.5 wheels are on the way and I am looking for tires now.

Stock OD is 25.7 and I am looking for 26 for the front and around 27 for the rear.

Any Ideas where I can get 27 inch tires that will fit a 17x10.5 rim?

anyone?

I think these wheels are "R" copies clear coat not chrome?

Those are Cobra R replicas. The only Cobra R's that are real are obviously by Ford Racing. They cost an arm and a leg and look the same as replicas. The way to identify originals versus replicas is this: Ford Cobra R's will have part numbers stamped on the wheels themselves. This is more subtle but it's seen in the painted version or the chrome. 1995 Cobra R came with silver wheels and not chrome.

The second easiest factor but one that can be modified in the real Cobra R wheel has a red "R" with a snake wrapped through it. Most wheels, such as yours, have a single snake in them and not red R. The red R centercap can be bought online, but they cost quite a good amount of money from sites and even used on eBay.

I personally recommend buying your replica wheels off of eBay. I had a very positive experience with the dealer I chose.

There are a few popular choices here, some people like Mustang Parts & Performance - American Muscle for their free shipping. If you visit the vendor forum we also recieve a discount on our purchases if you message the representative on the forum and ask for the code.

AmericanMuscle is one choice and there are many other sites. As I mentioned earlier I had chosen eBay and went with this seller here, (I bought all 9" wide wheels, but this seller and many others offer 9/10.5" staggered setups which is pretty convenient.)

Here's a link to one auction:
eBay Motors: Chrome Mustang Cobra R Wheels 17 x 9 & 17 x 10.5 Fits (item 290230373076 end time May-21-08 16:36:51 PDT)

I believe you may have to remove your quad-shock or do some other magic trick with them to make a 10.5" fit in back, but a nice aftermarket set of lower control arms will do the same thing and some that your quad-shocks are supposed to do: stop wheel hop. Then again, you're off-roading a Cobra... The quad-shocks come on and off really easy and they're pretty useless in my opinion.

I had a very positive experience with the seller I chose. There's another large seller, AFS, but they're a bit more pricey. I've had my wheels for a year and they've held up beautifully.
