Help with mods

I have a 5-speed 97 GT that is basicly stock except for some dynomax mufflers. I want to do some small stuff right now but need a little help picking wich brand of parts to use and size of certain parts.

I would like to change my Spark plugs, Plug wires, Throttle body, MAF, Headers ( was thinking BBK long tubes) , Rear end gears ( was thinking 3.73), fuel injectors and computer chip.

On an unrelated note the clutch pedal has been shacking since i bought the car, i have been told by other mustang owners that it is just something that certain mustangs do but mine is getting to be quite loud and i think something might be wrong with it.

thank you for any input you have.

whats your budget? jlt cai is the best for our cars. accufab tb is a good brand but pricey. sct makes a great tuner. ngk plugs and msd wires. rearend gears is a personal choice some people like 373 and some like 410 better.

Get gears first. Most people go with 4.10s. I have 4.30s but they get annoying on the highway and first gear is useless around town.
Don't waste your $$ with a MAF, injectors, TB, or even a chip.
Save your money and get a used supercharger kit for around $1500 to $2500. In the long run, this will net you the most gains for less money. I wish I have done this from the get.
Or you can change over to PI intake, cams and heads (40+ hp gain). All can be obtained used from Ebay for about $400 or less. The whole swap including all the gaskets, fluids, and miscellaneous stuff will cost you around $600 plus labor. Do it yourself, its not hard just time consuming.
LT Headers are good but they are a pain to install.
Good Luck.

sounds like you need a clutch..or if its not that then definitly a cable and adjuster...as far as mods...do a tune up first it makes the world of diffrence...plugs, wires, fuel filter...then get the JLT cold air intake, throttle bodies dont do much on stock engine so dont waste your money...if you already have the mufflers and are satisfied with them i would get a catback and a midpipe... slp, bassani, mac, bbk, flowmaster, magnaflow are all great brands... welcome to the forums

Thanx for all the help guys. I found a MSD package on ebay for 277$ that has 2 MSD coil packs, Wires and NGK IX spark plugs. Would that be worth buying?

Some people will tell you that to make big power you gotta have hipo coil packs. I think its one of those mods that you add on later, when your car already has 300 horsepower. But if you would like to add it, it sure wouldn't hurt anything. New plugs and wires wouldn't hurt anything either.

Well those mods aren't needed right away, but as soon as you want to go forced induction, you damn well better have those mods.

Most supercharger kits will come with injectors, chip, fuel pump, etc. I agree that you need all that with a supercharger. But if you are staying NA why spend money on stuff you dont need right away.
