05-07 mustang gt engine

ok so ive been lookin around and I found a 2005 mustang GT engine with just 9700k miles for just $810.00. It was in a rollover accident. says engine is still like new tho. so I was wondering, how hard would it be to stick one in a 98 gt, I havent heard of one to be put in a 99-04 gt let alone a 96-98 gt. once again im jus wonderin, i got my mind set on a 02-04 engine but 05+ would be nice, lol.

I have no earthly idea...You would have to swap the whole engine harness...There would prolly be alittle bit of fab work...If you are looking for that kind of swap...Go 4V...

On another mustang forum site [ sorry ] someone swapped a 05 gt engine into their 99-04 gt. I believe he had to use a cobra throttle body to make it work. I believe he also had some head work and mods on it and said he was making about 345-350 Hp, looked pretty sweet too

I was thinking of doing this as well. The 05 motor's bolt on and such are a lot cheaper than the 4V and flow almost as good....I would do this....

If you look at the cowl you'll notice it is a 99-04 piece.....slap that in there are turbo or supercharge it and you'll be running real nice....He used his stock block and switched over the heads, intake. He used the stock block because the motor mounts are different on 05 & up blocks....just fyi....thought you might like the info...even tho it's an old post
