Engine Swap Out!!

Hey guys, I have a 97 mustang gt. I have approx. 158k miles on the car. I dont think anything is wrong with the motor, but I have the oportunity to buy a 2002 gt motor with approx. 45,000k miles on it. I have plans to one day get a supercharger, but I think I need the better motor with less miles on it. I hope that I am right, but if not, please guide me in the right direction. Thanks a lot..... Kosinski

Doesn't sound like a bad idea to me. It will be fine with a safe tune. How much are you going to pay for the 02 motor?

mines still got the 96 computer/wiring harness in it, so it turns out. i found this out when i went to replace the alternator and picked up one for a 2000 gt and it didnt fit, so i went back and got the 96 and it fit. but is there any benefits to switching the wiring harness?

not really, but if the other engine had all the accessories, COP's, fuel rails, etc it'd be easy jsut to use the new computer and harness....i'm using my old one because im not a big fan of the cop's, I heard that you might have to use the old engines oil pan, is that right 94pacecar?
