Welcome to the forums.
If you do a little searching on our site you will see this question has been asked many times. feel free to check out our exhaust section, do a little reading, see some sound clips, then if you have any questions let us know.

If he's just throwing on mufflers that really isn't going to throw horsepower your way. Flowmaster 40s definitely sound nice, but then again everyone has Flowmaster on their Mustang. If you're just going for a mellow tune in your ears then have him throw up some mufflers otherwise I'd spend the extra cash and do it right from the manifold (or headers) back!
There is huge praise for any of the other large brands here, some names to think of: Bassani (Hope you have money hemorrhaging out of your pockets.) Magnaflow (Popular) Borla SpinTech (Biased towards this, loud, deep, amazing. BIASED though.) SLP (MustangMatt96GT hates these, calls them Crappy Loud Pipes.) MAC (Bad rap half the time and I can agree, but a lot of positive criticism on their exhaust system.) Flowmaster (I feel like everyone has this, tried and true, can't go wrong but definitely nothing completely out of the ordinary. A safe shot but why not research and go for something fresh?) |

The borla's are deceptively quiet sitting at the light. But when the green comes on and you drop the hammer that shit sounds gooooooooooooooood!!!!!!!!!!
