Exclamation

its been a while*update*

so its been a while since ive posted up on here. alot has changed in terms of plans and time lol. when i last posted i was just starting a stage 2 pi head swap.

i ended up getting into a head on collision with my dd.total write off,but it was old and shitty so i didnt get anything really for it. so i had to halt the headswap and buy another car. ended up with a mazda 3 from a ford dealership lol.

the plan was:
pi intake manifold
Stage 2 VT Cams
Manley +1mm Valves
Comp Cams High Load Valve Springs
Comp Cams Titanium Retainers
Comp Cams Adjustable Cam Gear Set
Ford Racing 9mm Spark Plug Wires
Accufab Throttle Body/Plenum

i have all the parts listed, minus the cam.

so now ive decided to pull her off the road(still havent taken it outta storage/started it up) for about 2 years and fully rebuild it. everything.

the plan as of now is,
interior:
roll cage(pending insurance)
replace beige carpet with black, custom rear seat delete, cobra misano racing seats, white face guages, pillar guages and paint all the beige trims black inside.

exterior:
mold mach 1 lip to bumper, carbon 4" cowl hood, v6 mustang rear bumper(so it just says mustang...sleeper) and possibly a new paint job, black of course.

driveline: ford racing 10th aniv cobra brake kit, ford racing or motive gear 4:10s or 4:30s, moser full spool, 31 spline forged axles, aluminum flywheel and stage 3 clutch, aluminum driveshaft.

as for the motor, im pulling it next month, gonna rebuild it from the ground up. goal is 500+ to the wheels pre nitrous and low 11s.
im probably going with the same set up for heads, with a stg3 cam instead.
i got a set of 03 cobra pistons, to help lower the compression from the pi swap. gonna get the blocked reworked, sleeved, forged crank, h beams and
rods. and find an intake manny or get one custom made.

NOW THIS IS WHERE I NEED YOUR HELP!!

im having alot of trouble making my decision on either a twin turbo set up with low boost for street and 25+ for the strip. or a blower.
also on what kind of blower. i love the kenne bells sounds, but the paxton novi 2000 is lookin good. i plan on throwing some nitrous at it for the track to have some fun also, a compucar wet kit or plate system.

theres also the hellrasier set up, personally id love to go with it, just dont really wanna dish out the 8gs for it. i can build a twin kit for alot cheaper and run it through a kenne bell.

so my questions are:
for a FI set up should i be looking into boring? say a +030? if i do that i would have to get new pistons.
should i stick with my stock lower end or buy a bare shortblock?
and of course, what do you guys think the pros/cons of going blower over turbo and vice versa.

i was talking with joe dasilva today and he thinks the tt set up is great for making big power, better than a blower. butt that its alot more work, and its alot fussier about weather, how its driven and such. he thinks the blower would be more reliable down the long run.

by the way, joe had his drag car out at the mustang show today and WOW. 2500+hp twin turbo sn95, that thing was loud as fuck and popped i think everyones ears at the show.

sorry for the long post but as i said, alot has changed and its been a while.
im back and will be bugging you guys alot as i get the ball rolling!!

thanks!!
mike

in this order, 1st being best

1) turbo or twin turbo
2) centrifugal supercharger (paxton, vortech, procharger)
3) twin screw

at the track, you can't beat a turbo. it's just the best thing ever invented. nitrous is pretty great at the track too though. the turbo is also very streetable. the centrifugal supercharger is very close to a turbo performance wise, but turbo's are capable of producing more power with less boost and no parasitic loss. don't get me wrong - a kenne bell would be impressive at the track, but it just wont compare to a turbo or centrifugal. the thing about the kene bell though, is that it would be just unbelievably fun on the street

i definatly love turbos, been a turbo guy since i started driving. ive had a couple turbo cars and yes there the absolue shit.bovs ftw.
the only thing is there really fussy and when im dealing with this kind of investment i want it to last.this is why i decided to rebuild everything.
i dont beat on er at all,but once i start tracking it, shell take some abuse from that.

either way i plan to run minimal boost on the street, maybe 8-9 psi.

but the idea is still there, ive also never had a TT car
im really leaning towards the kenne bell big bore kit or the novi 2200 but inputs great

just talked to my builder. he says go custom tt set up. with the head work, cam and built lower ill net over 500hp np its just a matter of how much i want

hes like we can do anything once the blocks built, if you want 400 for the street and 800 for the track, it can be easily done lol.
